Great game.
Combat plays like DDR mixed with Megaman Battle Network. The movement and timing element to start your spells is fun and a joy to master. The animations are easy to unlock with items you can get to make unlocking them faster, or speed combat up in general by simply knocking them out.
Story can be a miss for some as this is part 2 of the series, with part 1 being Magical Waifus Academy. If you don’t know the background on that one the beginning hits you like a whirlwind and can confuse some, but is easy to put together. The kicker is that it also ends on a cliff hanger setup for a part 3, or a version 3.0? Either way, its not complete, and based on the history of the dev, won’t be until they release their next game.
Either way, a fun play, spent an easy 10+ hours grinding the item requirements to buff and unlock everything. Would recommend using cheats to gain the currency to do it, and just spend your time solving the puzzles. Most have to deal with observing the area you’re in and applying sequencing.
Also Juniper the Vtuber is in this for some reason. If that’s important to you, cool, if not, its easy to write it off in your mind as in-game lore.

Oh yeah. I also forgot that it has some random side-games in the game as well. There is a segment that is Plants-vs-Zombies and another which is a Vampire Survivor’s-esq game. Both are reasonably well done for being bolted onto the game, but the requirement to pass them can throw some people off. The Vampire Survivor’s game took what felt like 20 minutes to complete a run, and I failed that 2-3 times because of not understanding how the power system worked. Maybe that’s because I haven’t played actual VS, but each upgrade type takes an equipment slot shown in the bottom right, and getting a different equipment type, with the same element/attack type is often better than getting multiple elements.
